September Update
How is September going for you so far? Every year, September feels like a lot, after a beautiful Canadian summer and some low expectations. We tend to see a flurry of activity this time of year, with so many more people back to work and trying to be engaged after turning their brains off for whatever amount of holidays they were able to take.
Despite all the weirdness that 2020 continues to bring us, it seems as though this September has been no different. The kids are going back to school, but of course it’s been stranger and more confusing this year than ever before. We’re all back at work, but it’s back to work at home for many of us… which is where we’ve been all summer… so it may be even harder to make that mental switch.
At Admin Slayer, we usually see an increase in inquiries from business owners who want to add to their team and this year is - kind of surprisingly - no different.
Bookkeeping has gotten a lot more confusing for everyone with TEWS and CEWS and delayed deadlines. Professionals are harder and harder to come by as the job gets more complex. Despite the fact that many futurists were predicting that AI would take over this area of expertise, the reality is that thoughtful experts are still very much needed - perhaps now more than ever - to ensure that your dollars and cents are lining up exactly how they should.
Social media, websites, and online support is now impossible to ignore. If a business didn't have an online storefront, community, and communication channels before the pandemic started, it was scrambling to create it. Content creation, curation, and online presence is no longer something that was excellent to have… it’s now a must.
With everyone working from home, and more people taken away from full-time work as they take on more family responsibilities, professional administrators who can expertly navigate the remote working world are vital.
Admin Slayer didn’t predict this year’s pandemic… but we are excited that we were ready.
